Gaming tools can add a lot to the game. You can’t replace the standard D20 but I have introduced a couple extra ways of generating random numbers for specific adventures. I find it can help change the atmosphere of the game. Drawing from a deck of cards while playing out a casino heist is really satisfying! I’ve also used a Jenga tower during an adventure where the party was fighting their way up a mad wizard’s tower. One bad move could send the whole dungeon spiraling down!
Have you guys tried adding any gaming tools apart from the traditional set of dice? How did it turn out?
